From the very beginning Mr fix started chasing them and interrupted them throughout their journey. This resulted in missed opportunity for Mr Fogg to complete his journey on time as on the arrival to Liverpool he arrested Mr. Fogg
2. Delay in India:
At Kholby village, they learnt that the road is 50 miles short of completion and passengers are required to find their own way to Allahabad to resume their train journey.
3: Attacked by Robbers:
In Nebraska the train was attacked by bandits resulting in loss of time and resources.
4: Delay in Hong Kong:
In Hong Kong when they secure cabins to Yokohama, they learnt that it's departure has been rescheduled to the evening and there Mr. Fix also drugged Passepartout. As a result they missed the steamer.
Climax
The thrilling climax of the story is when Mr. Fogg just arrived in time to win his bet but Mr. Fix arrested him. Later he released him after knowing that someone else robbed the bank, Mr.Fogg reached London 5 minutes late to win his wager due to Fix interruption.
But the story took a turn and Passepartout came to know that they had gained a day due to travelling through time zones and therefore they are not late to win their wager.
