NOUN:
A naming word is called noun.
Or
Noun is the name of person, place , thing or an idea.
For Example
Akbar was a great King.
The rose smells sweet.
The sun shines bright.
Types of Noun:
1.A Common Noun is a new given in common to every person, place or thing of the same class
For example
Girl, boy, city or country .
2.A Proper Noun is the name of some particular person, place or thing.
For example
Ayesha, Ali , Karachi, Pakistan etc.
3.An Abstract Noun denotes name of things that we can't see touch. For example:
Honesty , Beauty, Bravery, Jealousy
4. Concrete Noun denotes names of the things that can be seen and touched , for example:
Chair , table, flower, pen etc.
5. Countable noun:
Those nouns that can be counted are called countable noun, for example
Books, apple, girls, chair etc.
6. Uncountable Noun:
Those nouns that cannot be counted are called uncountable Noun.
For example:
Oil, Sugar, honesty, milk and water etc.
7. GENDER:
Masculine Gender :
A noun that denotes male species of the living things is called masculine Gender noun, for example
Father, boy, Uncle, Lion etc.
Feminine Gender:
A noun that denotes female species of the living things is called feminine Gender noun, for example
Mother, girl, Aunt, Lioness etc
Neutral Gender noun:
A noun that denotes neither male nor female is said to be Neutral Gender noun.
For example
Table , chair, pen, marker, bag etc.
Common Gender noun:
A noun that denotes either male or female is said to be common Gender noun, for example ,
Student, teacher, doctor, cousins etc.
Collective Noun:
A noun that denotes group of a things or persons taken together and spoken as single entity is said to be collective noun.
For example
Flock of birds
Army of soldiers
Crowd of people
Bunch of bananas
Herd of cattle
Singular Noun:
A noun that denotes single person or thing is said to be Singular Noun e.g.
Book, bag, pencil and door etc.
Plural Noun:
A noun that denotes more that one person or thing is said to be Plural Noun
For example
Books, bags, pencils and doors .
