 Q.1. Why was the Happy Prince sad ?

The Happy Prince was sad because his statue was set up that he could see all the ugliness and all the misery of the city.

Q.2. How did the Swallow help the Happy Prince?

The Swallow helped the happy Prince by  taking his precious belongings like Ruby, Sapphire and thin leaves of fine gold and gave it the needy people as the happy Prince directed.

Q.3. Why did the Swallow feel warm?

The Swallow felt warm because he had performed good deeds by helping poor and needy.

Q.4. The story of the happy Prince tells a number of things about the city. Can you identify and list them?

There are a number of things that are listed in the story:
I. The city was full of needy people.
II.  The Rich were enjoying in their beautiful houses the beggers were sitting at the gate. 
III. The Children were starving in the city.

Q.5. Why was the statue of the Happy Prince taken down?

The statue of the Happy Prince was taken down because it was no longer beautiful. It looked so shabby and ugly therefore the Mayor ordered to pull it down.

Q.6.  What do you think is the moral of this story?

The moral of the story is that we must do good deeds without expecting in return. The matter is in between us and God. We should feel for poor and needy and help them. 

Q.7. How does the Prince change from the beginning to the end of the story? Is he happier at the beginning or the end? Why?

In the beginning, the happy Prince lived in a palace where no worries is allowed to enter. He did not know about people sufferings. At the end when he came to know about people's hardship, he tried his best to help them and felt happy.
